To say authenticity happens by accident is ignorance and stated by those who probably struggle with being authentic themselves, because by stating this, it shows that they think authenticity is found, not cultivated and created. It takes a plan, a vision and a choice, to be who you want to be! If you don’t, who you are will change with whichever group or person has the most influence in your life.
Courage isn't just the ability to step past the fear you feel, it’s also the ability to go after connection with someone you don't agree with or like. Courage is the thing that looks fear in the face and says, “I’m not going to compromise my ability to seek understanding and connection with the person that you, Fear, tell me I should be afraid of.”
We can start to recognize the voices that Shame and Guilt have, but we can’t move forward in life if we still listen to them. The negative thoughts that are in our lives actually keep us from enjoying life to the fullest.
